Artelac Eye Drops 3.2mg/ml 10ml Bausch+Lomb are eye drops suitable for dry eye syndrome, which disrupts the natural formation of tears. Artelac Eye Drops 3.2mg/ml 10ml Bausch+Lomb are also recommended for functional disorders caused by local or systemic diseases or caused by insufficient or incomplete closure of the eyelid. The use of the drops also affects the accompanying burning sensation, foreign body sensation and photophobia. The drops are also suitable for exposure to wind, heat, eye fatigue caused by prolonged standing in front of an electronic screen, long driving and others. The product serves as an artificial substitute for tears and effectively moistens contact lenses.
Before using Artelac Do not use Artelac
If you have hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients of the medicinal product.
Take special care with Artelac
Even when used as directed, this medicinal product has a short-term effect on visual perception and thus affects the ability to react. For these reasons, you should not drive, work without a secure foothold or operate machinery during this time.
Use of other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
If other eye drops/ointments are used together with the medicinal product, the effect of the previously applied medicinal product may be affected, as it may be diluted and/or displaced from the conjunctival sac when the next medicinal product is applied. For this reason, there should be an interval between the applications of the different medicinal products of approximately 15 minutes, and Artelac should always be the last medicinal product applied. The longest possible residence time in the eye leading to a prolonged moisturizing effect is important for Artelac.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
There is no risk associated with the use of Artelac during pregnancy and lactation, as hypromellose is not resorbed and thus is not systemically available.
Adverse reactions
Like all medicines, Artelak can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions in the eye area may occur when using Artelak. Artelak contains cetrimide as a preservative, which may cause eye irritation (burning, redness, foreign body sensation), especially when used frequently and may cause damage to the cornea when used for a long time. If such hypersensitivity reactions or eye irritation occur, please discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. Patients who react with hypersensitivity to preservatives should be switched to a product without any preservatives.
