Stoperan 2 mg capsule, hard is a non-prescription medicinal product containing loperamide hydrochloride, which is used for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea. Loperamide is an antidiarrheal agent. Stoperan suppresses the pronounced peristalsis of the colon and increases the absorption of water. As a result, the transit time of the intestinal contents is prolonged, the frequency of bowel movements and the amount of feces are reduced, and the consistency of the feces is changed as a result of the increased absorption of water in the colon. Stoperan is intended for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.

The active substance is: loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg. The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, talc, magnesium stearate. Gelatin capsule: gelatin, erythrosine (E127), patent blue (E131), titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow (E104).

Dosage: For children, the dose should be adjusted to body weight (3 capsules per 20 kg of body weight) Children 6-8 years of age: Acute diarrhea: 1 capsule after each diarrheal defecation. Maximum 3 capsules per day. Chronic diarrhea: 1 capsule after each diarrheal defecation. Maximum 2 capsules per day. Children 9-12 years of age: Acute diarrhea: 1 capsule after each diarrheal defecation. No more than 3 capsules per day. Chronic diarrhea: 1 capsule after each diarrheal defecation. No more than 3 capsules per day. Adults and children over 12 years of age: Acute diarrhea: Initial dose - 2 capsules, then 1 capsule after each diarrheal defecation. Maximum 8 capsules per day. Chronic diarrhea: Initial dose - 1 capsule 2 times a day; When necessary, the dose may be increased to 4-6 capsules daily. No dose adjustment is necessary in patients with renal impairment or in the elderly. Diarrhea may resolve after the first dose. In this case, the medicinal product should be discontinued.
