Cefacel contains the trace element selenium, which is part of the antioxidant protective system of cells in the body. Selenium has antimutagenic and antiallergic effects and stimulates the body's immune defense. Cefacel is used in cases of proven selenium deficiency, which cannot be compensated by an appropriate diet. Selenium deficiency can occur in cases of nutritional and absorption disorders (in serious diseases of the digestive tract, as well as in renal failure) or in case of improper and insufficient nutrition (total parenteral nutrition and hemodialysis). Always read the leaflet before use! Active ingredients: 100 mcg selenium as 0.219 mg sodium selenite (Sodium selenite) Dosage: Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has prescribed it! The recommended dose is 1 tablet daily, unless otherwise prescribed. Warnings: Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients. If your complaints persist or your condition worsens, consult your doctor. Co-administration of vitamin C should be avoided because precipitation of elemental selenium cannot be avoided.
