XYLOGEL / XYLOGEL 0.05 % description:
Xylogel 0.5% of 10 ml is a non-prescription medicinal product intended to suppress a runny nose and reduce the amount of secretion. The product is in the form of a gel and contains xylometazoline hydrochloride. Applied to the mucous membrane, it causes constriction of blood vessels, eliminates edema, suppresses hyperemia of the nasopharyngeal mucosa and reduces the amount of secretion, i.e. relieves a runny nose. The medicine is in the form of a gel, which additionally makes it possible to moisten the nasal mucosa without penetrating the nasal cavities and throat. Xylogel is suitable for adults and children over 3 years of age. The medicine is used for acute rhinitis of viral or bacterial origin, acute or chronically worsening sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, otitis media catarrhalis acuta - in order to restore the patency of the Eustachian tube.
XYLOGEL 0.05 % application:
One spray into each nostril every 8-10 hours. Treatment should not normally exceed 3-5 days. Re-use should only be carried out if the product has been discontinued for a period of several days. For hygiene reasons, one package should only be used by one patient.
XYLOGEL 0.05 % composition:
Active ingredient: 5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride. Excipients: sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate hydrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sorbitol, benzalkonium chloride, disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, hydroxyethylcellulose, glycerol, purified water.
