STREPSILS Honey and Lemon indications:
Strepsils Honey and Lemon belongs to a group of medicinal products called antiseptics. Strepsils Honey and Lemon is recommended for the treatment and relief of symptoms in infectious-inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis). STREPSILS / STREPSILS Honey and Lemon dosage: One tablet is sucked slowly every 2-3 hours; the lozenges are left in the mouth until completely dissolved; do not chew or swallow whole; take between meals. As with other similar medicinal products, you should change the position of the lozenges inside the mouth until they dissolve to avoid the risk of local irritation. Do not exceed the recommended dose (maximum 8 lozenges in 24 hours). To avoid the risk of choking, Strepsils Honey and Lemon is only used in children who can hold the lozenge in the mouth without supervision until it slowly dissolves. Elderly patients In elderly patients, there is no need to reduce the dose. Treatment should not last longer than 5 days, as it may lead to an imbalance of the oral microbial flora and the risk of bacterial or fungal infection. STREPSILS / STREPSILS Honey and Lemon composition: The active substances are: 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg and Amylmetacresol 0.6 mg. The other ingredients are: honey, tartaric acid, peppermint oil, lemon oil, liquid sucrose, liquid glucose, colouring agent E104. WHAT STREPSILS HONEY AND LEMON IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR Strepsils Honey and Lemon belongs to a group of medicines called antiseptics. Strepsils Honey and Lemon is recommended for the treatment and relief of symptoms in infectious-inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis). It has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. The effect occurs in the first 5 minutes and lasts up to 2 hours after the administration of the medicinal product. 2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE STREPSILS HONEY AND LEMON Do not take Strepsils Honey and Lemon • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol, Amylmetacresol or any of the other ingredients of Strepsils Honey and Lemon. Take special care when using Strepsils Honey and Lemon • if you have diabetes mellitus - see section Important information about some of the ingredients of Strepsils Honey and Lemon There are no known interactions with other medicinal products Administration of Strepsils Honey and Lemon with food and drink Strepsils Honey and Lemon should not be administered with food and drink. To be administered between meals. Pregnancy, fertility and breast-feeding Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any medicine. The safety of Strepsils Honey and Lemon during pregnancy and lactation has not been established, the medicinal product can be taken with caution by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Driving and using machines Strepsils Honey and Lemon does not affect the ability to drive and use machines. If you take more Strepsils Honey and Lemon than you should Gastrointestinal discomfort may occur; use should be discontinued and symptomatic treatment should be initiated - for this purpose you should consult your doctor or emergency center. If you forget to take Strepsils Honey and Lemon Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten lozenge. If you stop taking Strepsils Honey and Lemon Early discontinuation of treatment will not affect you. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS Like all medicines, Strepsils Honey and Lemon can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions, indigestion and diarrhea are possible. If any of the side effects become serious or you notice other side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. 5. HOW TO STORE STREPSILS HONEY AND LEMON Do not use Strepsils Honey and Lemon after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date corresponds to the last day of the month stated. Store below 25°C. Keep out of the reach of children. Medicines should not be thrown away via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need. These measures will help protect the environment. 6.
