ESPUMISAN L Emulsion
Indications: Espumizan L is a medicine for bloating and a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen. The increased formation and accumulation of gases in the stomach and intestines in the form of small-bubble foam leads to unpleasant complaints such as bloating and a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen. This is also the cause of colic in infants, which are common complaints and occur in about 1/3 of newborns. Colic begins a few days after birth and continues until about the third month. It occurs in both breast-fed and formula-fed infants. Colic usually begins at the same time of day, most often in the afternoon and evening, with sudden, loud, prolonged crying. The child's face turns red, the legs curl up towards the abdomen, and the hands – into fists. The child is irritable, excited, restless. Espumizan® L reduces the surface tension of the gas bubbles and breaks down the small-bubble foam. The gases released in this way can be absorbed by the intestinal wall and excreted naturally. Espumisan® L acts in a purely physical way, does not change chemical reactions and is pharmacologically and physiologically inactive, does not interact with microorganisms and enzymes. Espumisan® L does not affect digestion and does not change the acidity in the stomach. Espumisan® L is not absorbed and is excreted unchanged. Espumisan Lee is used for: • all diseases accompanied by increased formation and accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract (flatulence), accompanied by complaints such as discomfort, swelling, feeling of heaviness and fullness in the abdomen; • colic in infants; • excessive swallowing of air, as well as when consuming certain foods and drinks leading to increased gas formation (beans, lentils, cabbage, carbonated drinks); • heart complaints, as a result of the diaphragm moving upwards due to the accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract; • preparation of the abdominal cavity for imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, etc.) and as an additive to contrast material in double-contrast radiography; • poisoning with detergents (surfactants). Dosage and administration: Infants: Add 1 ml (20 drops) to the bottle with one spoon or give to the infant before or after breastfeeding. Children between 1 and 6 years: 1 ml - 3 to 5 times a day.
