Duspatalin 200mg is a non-prescription medicine containing mebeverine hydrochloride, which is used to relieve the symptoms of the so-called irritable bowel syndrome, such as abdominal pain and cramps, feeling of bloating and gas, diarrhea, constipation or a combination of both, as well as small, hard stools in the form of balls or ribbons. The active ingredient of Duspatalin belongs to the group of so-called antispasmodics, which act on the intestines. The intestines are a long muscular tube through which food passes and is processed. When a spasm occurs in the intestines, they narrow and this leads to pain. This medicine helps to relieve pain and spasm. Caution:

The active substance is mebeverine hydrochloride. Each capsule contains 200 mg. 
The other ingredients are: Capsule content: magnesium stearate, polyacrylate dispersion 30 percent, talc, hypromellose, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) 30 percent dispersion, glycerol triacetate. Capsule shell: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), printing ink shellac (E904), propylene glycol, concentrated ammonia solution, potassium hydroxide, black iron oxide (E172).
 
 
Always take Duspatalin exactly as described below. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Duspatalin can be taken by adults and children over 10 years of age. Swallow the capsules whole with enough water (at least 100 ml). Do not chew them. Try to take them at the same time each day. This will help you remember to take them. The usual dose is one capsule twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. Do not give Duspatalin to children under 3 to 10 years of age.
If you take more Duspatalin than you should If you have taken more of the medicine, you should tell your doctor or go to a hospital immediately. Take the packaging and this leaflet with you.
If you forget to take Duspatalin If you forget to take your dose, take the next one at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.
