FENISTIL GEL contains an active ingredient that belongs to the group of medicines called antihistamines. They are used to relieve skin allergies and many different types of itching. FENISTIL GEL is a cooling, colourless, non-greasy, odourless gel. It does not stain clothes. FENISTIL GEL relieves itching by blocking the action of histamine – a substance that is released in the body during an allergic reaction. Applied to the skin, it relieves itching and irritation. FENISTIL GEL also has a local anaesthetic effect. FENISTIL GEL penetrates well through the skin. Itching and irritation are relieved quickly, within a few minutes. FENISTIL GEL is used to relieve itching associated with skin rashes, hives, insect bites, sunburn and superficial burns.
FENISTIL / FENISTIL GEL 0.1% 30 g. method of application:
Apply 2 to 4 times daily to the affected areas. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve within one week. If you accidentally swallow FENISTIL GEL, inform your doctor immediately.

BEFORE USING FENISTIL GEL Do not use FENISTIL GEL - if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of FENISTIL GEL (see section 6) Tell your doctor or pharmacist; because FENISTIL GEL is not suitable for you in these circumstances. Take special care when using FENISTIL GEL Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun on large areas of the body where the gel has been applied. Tell your doctor if you experience very severe itching or extensive skin involvement. Using other medicines Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Pregnancy and lactation During pregnancy and lactation, do not use FENISTIL GEL on large skin surfaces, especially if they are injured or inflamed. Do not put the gel on the nipples if you are breastfeeding. In infants and young children, do not use FENISTIL GEL on large skin surfaces, especially if they are injured or inflamed. 3. HOW TO USE FENISTIL GEL Apply 2 to 4 times a day to the affected areas. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve within a week. If you accidentally swallow FENISTIL GEL, inform your doctor immediately. 4. Possible side effects Like all medicines, FENISTIL GEL can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. FENISTIL GEL may cause mild dryness or a burning sensation on the skin. In very rare cases, skin rashes or itching may occur: if you experience these symptoms, stop using FENISTIL GEL and inform your doctor or pharmacist. If any of the side effects become serious, or you notice any other side effects not listed in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist. 5. HOW TO STORE FENISTIL GEL Keep out of the reach of children. Store below 25 °C. Do not use FENISTIL GEL after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Medicines should not be thrown away via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need.
